IBCPC Dragon Boat Festival

The IBCPC Dragon Boat Festival is held every four years under the auspices of the International Breast Cancer Paddler's Commission.  The Festival is an international non-competitive participatory event targeting Breast Cancer Survivors teams who engage in Dragon Boat activities as post-operative rehabilitation.

The Chicago International Dragon Boat Festival blends ancient culture with the excitement of sport and competition, transforming Busse Woods into the host venue for this high-energy day of racing. With festival grounds just a short drive from downtown Chicago, it's no surprise that this event has grown to become one of the most popular destinations on the MLDB map for US and Canadian teams alike.

The Milwaukee Chinese Community Center is proud to present the 2018 Milwaukee Dragon Boat Festival at the beautiful Lakeshore State Park. Throughout the festival, there will be performances in traditional dance, Chinese folk music, and Martial Arts. There will be hands-on opportunities for the young and young-at-heart to make opera masks and lanterns, play traditional games, participate in a dragon parade, and even learning to speak and write Chinese.

Dragon Boat Racing is not only the oldest, but also the 2nd fastest growing team sport in the world (second only to soccer). 20 paddlers work together to propel a 42 ft, 550 lb dragon boat. Flying through the water with adrenaline pumping and people cheering on race day is something you've just gotta see for yourself!
